What a cookie is

Necessary

Statistics

First-party measurement, built into this site rather than bought in. It counts page views, time on page, scroll depth and click positions, and the data stays on this server. It is used to see which pages are read and which are ignored. Off unless you allow it.

Marketing

Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel and Google Tag Manager, used to measure advertising campaigns and to attribute enquiries to the campaign that produced them. These involve third parties who process data outside the European Union. Off unless you allow it — and until you do, the scripts are not loaded at all, rather than loaded and told to behave.

Changing your mind

Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. Withdrawing is one click, exactly like giving.

You can also delete cookies through your browser's settings, and set it to refuse them. If you do, this site will ask again on your next visit, and parts of it may not work.
